Katarzyna Kleiber
Katarzyna Kleiber (ur. 1984) jest absolwentką historii sztuki Uniwersytetu im. A. Mickiewicza w Poznaniu. Studiowała także język perski na tejże uczelni, na kierunku etnolingwistyka. Od roku akademickiego 2008/2009 jest doktorantką w Instytucie Historii Sztuki UAM w Poznaniu. Zajmuje się współczesną sztuką irańską, w szczególności propagandą wizualną i relacją między twórczością artystyczną a polityką. Jest autorką kilku artykułów poświęconych tej problematyce. W ramach studiów doktoranckich przygotowuje rozprawę „Irańska sztuka a perska archeologia starożytna w czasach Pahlawich (1925-1979)”.
Książka, której pierwowzorem była praca magisterska Katarzyny Kleiber, została opiniowana do druku przez profesora dr hab. Tadeusza J. Żuchowskiego (UAM) oraz dr hab. Mariusza Bryla (UAM). Zawiera również wstęp autorstwa Marcina Krzyżanowskiego oraz kalendarium życia ajatollaha Chomeiniego.

New fuel efficiency standards ambitious but attainable
WASHINGTON, DC--(June 26, 2009) - A new study from PFC Energy finds that meeting the accelerated 2016 Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards announced by President Barack Obama will reduce US gasoline consumption by 1.1 million barrels per day compared to 2008 and by 120,000 barrels per day compared with the goals set by the 2007 Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA).
PFC Energy offers an interactive flash model below that allows users to test different scenarios. The model allows users to see how US fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions could evolve through 2025 based on changes in vehicle sales, technology and ethanol use. |

The Anglican primate of Ireland, directors of Christian development organizations in Europe and church leaders in Jerusalem have acted and spoken on peace for Israel and Palestine based on what each of them has seen on the ground.
A directors' delegation from APRODEV - the Association of World Council of Churches (WCC) related Development Organizations in Europe - who visited Gaza during the World Week for Peace in Palestine Israel, have urged Ministers of Foreign Affairs in the European Union (EU) to also go there and "witness for themselves the denigrating circumstances in which the people of Gaza live."
The delegation members, all of whom are EU citizens, "were particularly disappointed by the inappropriateness and ineffectiveness of the European Union policies to achieve peace," according to an APRODEV press release on the visit.

This morning Ayatollah Ali Khamenei demanded an end to the massive and forceful demonstrations protesting the controversial result of last week's election. He argued that to make concessions to popular demands and 'illegal' pressure would amount to a form of 'dictatorship', and he warned the protestors that they, rather than the police, would be held responsible for any further violence.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said considering membership of a number of very important and effective countries in Shanghai Cooperation Organization ( SCO), it can play its role in regional and international political and security affairs.
Speaking at Mehrabad Airport, at the end of his one day visit to Russia to attend SCO summit meeting, President Ahmadinejad told reporters that the SCO will find its real position in security and economic affairs, because countries like Russia and China as members and Iran and India as observer members are in it.
He reminded that since the year 2005, Iran has attended the meetings of the SCO as an observer.
He said that in the meeting, important regional and world issues were discussed and recommendations were given on bilateral and multilateral ties. |

In December 2009, the next UN climate summit will be held in Copenhagen officially called the 15th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP15). The Copenhagen summit is critical because governments must come to agreement soon on a new accord to take effect once the first commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol expires. Most wealthy industrialised countries which for 200 years have been the primary source of emissions leading to human-induced climate change are far from meeting their emission reduction targets agreed to under the Kyoto Protocol. |

Kwestia Porozumienia o Wolnym Handlu (FTA) w relacjach Unia Europejska (EU) - Rada Współpracy Arabskich Państw Zatoki (GCC)
Region Bliskiego Wschodu [1] należy do tych obszarów świata, w których zachodzą procesy regionalizacyjne. Współpraca pomiędzy państwami regionu ma już długa tradycję. Pierwszą organizacją regionalną była utworzona w 1945 r. Liga Państw Arabskich (LPA)[2]Organizacja powstała jako związek siedmiu formalnie niepodległych w tym czasie państw arabskich. Wraz z uzyskiwaniem niepodległości przez kolejne arabskie organizmy państwowe na Bliskim Wschodzie wzrastała liczba członków organizacji. Obecnie liczy ona 22. państwa członkowskie[3]. LPA nie ma jednak charakteru organizacji w pełni regionalnej. Za podstawowe kryterium członkostwa przyjęto bowiem kryterium narodowościowe. Przede wszystkim z tego powodu inne państwa regionu bliskowschodniego zostały wykluczone z udziału w procesach integracyjnych inicjowanych przez LPA. Jest to zatem organizacja, która w sensie terytorialnym pokrywa się z obszarem tzw. świata arabskiego.

At the time of raving battles in northern Pakistan, the media are paying attention to the impact of Talibans on the policy of Islamabad. Politicians fear that the regional instability may cause troubles in Afghanistan and seriously undermine peace afford in this war-battered country. The situation in Swat valley is on the top of US policymakers` agenda. However, while the media are getting steadily interested in the Pakistan and its flaming northwestern border, they turn the blind eye on the situation in Kashmir – the actual root of the northern culture of violence and terrorism. This short article is to remember that international community had once forgotten about the northern Pakistan and despite all resolutions the shadows of conflict still affect the regional affairs. |

Iran jest krajem, w którym większość obywateli nie ma jeszcze 35 lat. O Islamskiej Rewolucji z 1979 roku dowiadują się więc głównie z podręczników historii. Oto, co mówią o swoim kraju, panujących w nim prawach i nadchodzących wyborach prezydenckich.

Ukończyłam medycynę na Uniwersytecie w Teheranie i otworzyłam swój własny, prywatny gabinet w północnej części miasta. Pewnego dnia przyszła do mnie kobieta, w bardzo trudnej sytuacji i poprosiła mnie, żebym dokonała zabiegu aborcji. Początkowo odmówiłam, bo miałam jedynie teoretyczną wiedzę ze studiów na temat tego zabiegu, ale moja klientka płakała i błagała mnie, żebym to zrobiła.

HRH Prince El Hassan bin Talal of Jordan said that “Critical thinking is that astute cognitive presence in which the learner brings the sum of his / her intellectual faculties to bear on the given object of enquiry, in a delicate process of constructionist discourse.”
In his closing keynote address at the UNESCO Forum on Higher Education in the Europe Region, in Bucharest last Saturday (May, 23, 2009), HRH clarified that “today, the majority of education systems both in the West and elsewhere, teach their pupils to rely on the brain’s taxon memory system which is activated by repetition. Even in the so termed ‘advanced countries’ where universities pay lip service to critical thinking, the reality as it pertains on the ground is oftentimes very different.”
